Metal Is Not Cheap, And It's Not Getting Any Cheaper. That's why CCS Elite Fab Gives You Options.

Pre-painted Black Galvanized Steel (BLK)

Pre-painted black galvanized steel features a robust paint coating that lasts 20-30 years

before fading. Available in two sheet sizes—48×120 inches and 60×120 inches—this metal

has a gray backside, which is less noticeable and generally acceptable to customers. It is

available only in a 26-gauge thickness, offering rigidity but sometimes requiring additional

bracing for stability, especially in high-wind areas. The lighter weight of this metal makes it

easier to install compared to heavier metals. However, like other colored metals, it can

suffer from scratches, exposed cut edges, rivets or screws rusting.

Painted Galvalume Steel (Kynar)

Kynar-coated steel offers a superior option over unpainted galvanized steel. Pre-painted in

a variety of colors, this metal provides a long-lasting, fade-resistant finish, with a lifespan

of 20-30 years. Due to its pre-painted nature, Kynar cannot be soldered or welded; instead,

fabrication requires rivets and zip screws. The metal sheets have a white backing, which

some customers may find unattractive and prefer to be painted. Kynar is prone to

scratching, and any exposed areas can rust. It typically comes in a 24-gauge thickness,

providing rigidity, though it may not be sufficient for all applications.

G90 Powder Coated

G90 galvanized steel is a type of steel that has been coated with zinc through a hot-dip

process, providing enhanced corrosion resistance. The “G90” designation refers to the

weight of the zinc coating, specifically 0.90 ounces per square foot (total coating, both

sides of the sheet). This coating protects the steel from rust and corrosion, making it

suitable for various outdoor and high-moisture applications. After fabrication, G90

products are powder coated to a color of the customers choosing.

Stainless Steel

Stainless steel is one of the strongest thin-gauge metals available. It is highly rigid,

corrosion and creosote-resistant if using the proper alloy. Capable of lasting a lifetime.

Available in two sheet sizes—48×120 inches and 60×120 inches—stainless steel is versatile

and suitable for various projects. We commonly stock 26-gauge and 24-gauge options. It

comes in milled and polished finishes, with the former typically used for powder coating.

Powder-coated stainless steel can last 20-30 years or longer. Stainless steel can be spot-

welded for minimal visual impact and is compatible with copper. While more expensive, it

is an excellent choice for those seeking strength and durability.

Copper

Copper is one of the most premium and versatile metals we use, available in various

thicknesses, with 16oz and 20oz being the most common. It is highly malleable, allowing

for intricate designs, but can be easily dented or damaged in high-wind areas,

necessitating additional stainless-steel bracing. Copper is exceptionally durable and can

last a lifetime. However, it is highly corrosive to other metals, except for stainless steel and

itself, which can lead to unsightly green streaks and corrosion if runoff contacts other

metals. Standard copper sheets measure 36×120 inches, with oversized options of 48×120

available. Copper can be patinaed and painted, offering extensive customization, although

at a higher cost.
